This equipment is
intended to seal metal foiled wafer inside the capped
containers. Heating takes place in the metal foil and conducts
heat to its plastic coating and subsequently causes the
container material to melt and fuse. Pressure is normally
applied to the joint by means of the torque exerted by the
screwed cap and it is obviously essential that the foil coating
is compatible with the particular material.
The package
consists of 2 units comprising of the Induction Heating
Generator and Hand Applicator. The equipment is intended for
low speed production situations and, because normal
water-cooling has been avoided utilization of the generator and
work coil had been deliberately restricted to avoid overheating.
To prepare the
equipment for use, plug-in the appropriate hand applicator and
then connect the supply lead to single-phase mains socket. The
unit should now display the green ‘Ready’ and thus be O.K. for
sealing.
Power level and
time cycles are adjusted on the Induction Heater Control Panel
but, as a general rule, it is preferable to start with settings
low to avoid burning of the foil membrane in the cap.
Alternative
applications are available for different sized caps, but
different location rings can be utilized to centralize smaller
closures within the existing design.
